We have met the amount needed to get the grant.  We received a check from Thrivent for $11,890 this week.  Therefore the “Members for matching” category won’t show up in the weekly report anymore.

Kindergarten Registration
for 2010-2011 is now open and filling up fast!  Your child must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2010.  The St. John's congregation has decided that Kindergarten tuition will be waived for both members and non-members for the coming year.  Stop by or call the school office to register today.

 

Ping Pong for Senior Citizens – According to the Dr Oz Show ping pong retards the onset of Alzheimers by forcing people to use hand and eye coordination.  Any Seniors interested in playing ping, contact Arlene Conrady at 363-7734.  

 

Preschool Registration 3 yr. and 4 yr. old preschool classes are filling up fast for the 2010-2011 school year.    Stop by the school office to register.

Experience Lent.  Koine' presents Footsteps to the Cross.  Join us for a journey from the Mount of Transfiguration to Mount Calvary, as we focus on Jesus' journey to the cross.
Tues., March 16 at 7:00pm.  Wisconsin Lutheran High School Auditorium.  Free will offering.

 

Koiné, - The Church Band, a Christian band bringing a new vibrant sound and feel to traditional Lutheran and Christian songs, will be at Christ Lutheran in Pewaukee for a Lenten worship concert on Saturday, March 20.  This worship concert will take the place of our normal Saturday evening worship and will begin at 7:00 p.m. instead of our usual 5:00 p.m. start time.  Use this opportunity to invite your friends and neighbors to join you for a night of Christ-centered music.  Christ Lutheran Church is located on Highway 164 in Pewaukee, one-quarter mile south of Capitol Drive (highway 190), or one and three-quarters miles north of Interstate 94 off exit 294.  To find out more about Koiné’s ministry visit www.koinemusic.com

The dedication committee would like to thank all the members who helped make our dedication service and luncheon a most special day.  A big thank you to the ladies who prepared the luncheon and decorated the tables; the ladies who made our dedication banner; the young men who transported people to and from the high school parking lot; the many singing groups; the brass players; the helpers who took down the tables and chairs and cleaned the gym; the people who brought tables from various places; and anyone else who contributed to making this a most memorable day.  According to the ushers they counted 501 people in attendance.   One, two, three -  “Praise The Lord!”

Mark your calendar!  The Annual Loaves and Fishes Rummage Sale and Auction at WLHS is taking place on Thursday April 8th and Friday April 9th from 8am-1pm and again on Saturday April 10th from 8am-12:00noon.  Saturday auction begins at 9am.  Get started at that closet cleaning and sorting to set aside items for recycling for someone in need.  Donations will be received at the WLHS cafeteria, Money-Wednesday April 5th-7th.  Please no computer items, mattresses, tvs or microwaves.  Thank you!

Moving Help Needed  Help is needed to move a St. John’s family from Eagle to Mukwonago at the end of March.  Anyone that would be willing to help lift heavy furniture and boxes should call Vicki at 414-881-5879.

 

Mukwonago Village Hall. Life Line Screening. Wed, March 10th. For people 40-years-old and older. The vascular screenings are performed using Doppler color flow ultrasound You must pre-register by calling 1-800-324-1851. These screenings are completely painless, non-invasive, and require ten minutes or less each to complete. Cost for four vascular screenings $149.00.
